Dermal papillae

Dermal papillae which form the papillary dermis, brings nutrients and oxygen to the different layers of the epidermis. Another function is to nourish the hair follicles. Indeed, being located at the base of the hair follicle, the papillas serve as a meeting point for many small blood vessels filled with nutrients. Moreover, it is by different fibers assembly, that the papillary dermis helps the mechanism of resistance of the skin of the whole body, including the scalp. It is interesting to note that these are the dermal papillae that determine fingerprints.
